Diesel Cleaning

If your yacht has been affected by contaminated diesel Lamprell Marine have our own purpose built, portable diesel cleaning equipment. We have invested in a state of the art system that is not only powerful, but extremely compact.

This diesel cleaning system can be brought to your vessel and set up either on the quay side or even on the aft deck if required. This has many advantages over the older and much larger systems that usually have to be brought close to the vessel in the back of a van or truck. We can bring the cleaning rig directly to you and commence the purification process within a matter of minutes from arrival. Our system can process 1,500 litres per hour and can be made available on either an hourly or daily rate. The KLEENOIL system is designed and built in the UK to remove all impurities from the diesel tanks of any yacht both quickly and effectively.

Facts and Additional Information

The Kleenoil Mobile Filtration Unit used by lamprell Marine is a free-standing off-line fluid cleaning rig. The electric version used has a robust electric pump to circulate oil from machine reservoirs through 2 Kleenoil Filter Cartridges. Kleenoil’s Off-Line Mobile Filtration Units are used as a multi-purpose fluid cleaning and transfer machine. It is ideal for fuel tank purging on motor yachts, sailing yachts, trucks and large scale construction equipment. The system can also be used for fuel transfer and rotational cleaning of factory and industrial equipment cleaning most hydraulic, gear and transmission fluid reservoirs.

The specially designed Kleenoil filter achieves an ISO 4406 Cleanliness Code of 14/9: a much higher standard than the original specifications of the equipment’s original manufacturers. By filtering particles down to one micron, the Off-Line Micro-Filtration Unit minimizes the amount of dirt and debris within a machine and, as a result, will dramatically cut down on repair and maintenance costs.

Fluid cleanliness, is extremely important. It is widely recognized that silt particles (< 5 micron in size) are a primary cause of premature machine failure through abrasive wear of component surfaces. In addition water is a major cause of system damage through accelerated oxidation, corrosion and fluid breakdown.

The Kleenoil Filter Cartridge absorbs all free and emulsified water and gradually removes contaminant particles down to less than 1 micron (ISO 14/9 or NAS 1638 class 6 equivalent) It therefore extends engine life through the removal of the oxidation catalysts and at the same time extends individual component life. The system can also be used to clean and transfer unused oil prior to use.

Flow Rate Although it is impossible to state an exact flow rate due to the many factors that affect the performance of the pump and filtration system such as viscosity, temperature, and a degree of contamination of fluid. Other factors such as pump pressure and degree of contamination of cartridges also play an important part in litres per hour calculations. As an approximate guide however, the flow diesel for decontamination and cleaning at room temperature through new Kleenoil cartridges will be approximately 1,500 litres per hour with our system.

Since the company‘s inception our commitment to excellent service at a fair price continues to be the driving force behind all that we do. As boat owners, the company‘s founders were often staggered by the prices being charged for simple maintenance tasks such as cleaning the fuel & tanks. We have a commitment to getting the job done with the minimum amount of fuss at the best possible price.
